Install a chart

Install a chart as a release in a new namespace.

helm install my-release ingress-nginx/ingress-nginx --namespace ingress --create-namespace

Install with a values file

Override default values with your own file.

helm install my-release ./mychart -f values.yaml

Override a single value

Set a value on the command line.

helm install my-release ./mychart --set image.tag=1.4.2

Install or upgrade

Upgrade a release, creating it if it does not exist. The usual command in CI.

helm upgrade --install my-release ./mychart -n prod -f values-prod.yaml

Upgrade and roll back on failure

Wait for the release to become ready and roll back automatically if it fails.

helm upgrade my-release ./mychart --atomic --timeout 5m

Roll back a release

Return to an earlier revision. Find revisions with helm history.

helm rollback my-release 2

Uninstall a release

Remove a release and the resources it created.

helm uninstall my-release -n prod

Caution: Deletes the release's Kubernetes resources, which may include persistent data.
