Vim 9: Visual mode

6 common Vim 9 tasks.

Select characters

Start selecting by character. Move to extend the selection.

Start selecting whole lines.

Start a rectangular selection.

Ctrl-v

Select the paragraph around the cursor.

vip

Select a block down several lines, press I, type, then Esc to apply it to every line.

Ctrl-v  j j j  I  text  Esc

Select the same text again.
